Once upon a time.. in Bengal ❤️

Hope all of you are in great health and doing marvelous.

Few days back, in our trip to India, we had an opportunity to visit Bawali Rajbari, which is about 2 hours drive from Kolkata. Since then, I had thought of chronicling this as an individual post in my blog. The Rajbari Bawali is a 300-year-old boutique heritage property which has been reconstructed into this luxury heritage resort.

The vintage style and grace of the Zamindars of Bengal will come to life just the moment you step into the property. The 4 acres of royalty has different flavors for everyone visiting the place. It has various luxurious rooms like Classic Heritage, Zamindari suite ( we stayed in here), Royal suite etc with it’s unique royal features yet modern day comforts which is absolutely going to make your stay worth remembering.And, the traditional and few selective dishes of ancient Bengal and beverages at their Piano room was an ultimate pleasure. Oh and did I tell you about different cocktails and hookah options they offer to make you evening a bit dramatic. I mean, think about it! And, in addition, they are also extending the property in annex buildings as they named it “Natun Bari” facing pond view and those are pretty fancy too.

Now, coming to my look. I had chosen 2 different lookbook for the stay. Channeling my inner Zamindarni vibe for the first look. For this one I wore my vermillion red wedding Benarasi with classic pearl gold embellished neck piece, earrings along with gold conch shell and coral bangles as we Bengalis call those sankha badhano pola badhano. The look I kept very simple with small red bindi , kohl rimmed eyes and pinch of vermillion.

For the later one I chose one classic yet modern day look. Wore this bottle green silk by cotton mangalgiri saree with silver shade choker with green stone and matching bindi. Again kohl rimmed eyes and nude lip shade and that’s it.
