Pujo, the sheer nostalgia. How quickly a year has flown by. So much has happened, and so many things have changed for the better. Some changes I embraced wholeheartedly, while others required battles within myself. Pujo remains an enduring nostalgic feeling for us, a reminder of our past, the good old days. The sound of Dhaak, the fragrance of Parijat, catching up with old friends, late-night pandal hopping, the delectable street food, cleaning up our home, passing through age-old traditions, and celebrating our inner strength—all for Ma Durga’s return to her homeland, as we affectionately call it.
As Ma Durga comes home, we only seek positivity and blessings from our beloved deity. A little strength to go on with our daily life hassles, the conscience to be able to make the correct choice, little faith in all the souls who are trying their best to make it happen, little courage to protest against the odds, and last but not least, an abundance love and empathy for everyone around us. Just like our Ma.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of a tradition (still skeptical If I can call it one) that I started when I moved to a completely new country, leaving my own people and the festivities behind. Each year, I dress up in traditional attire to mark the auspicious beginning far from my land—my own way of celebrating Ma Dugga.
On this auspicious day of Mahalaya, which marks the commencement of Durga Pujo, I extend my heartfelt wishes to you all. May this pujo bring you love, prosperity, health, and peace. Wishing you all “Subha Sarodia”.
Coming to my outfit :
This georgette chikankari saree is dreamy, with its beautiful red selvage. I paired it with the blouse that came with it and accessorized the look with all the 92.5 silver jewelries I collected throughout the year.
Taking you though the shades of womanhood : Devi

I hope you all enjoy this post. Please share your experiences and plans for Durga Pujo in the comment section below. Until we meet again, remember to be beautiful, confident, and be yourself. Wishing you all a very happy Durga Pujo and Subho Mahalaya.
