The mushy morning snuggles right after you wake up by the sound of cooing, you don’t smell the freshly brewed caffeine first thing in the morning, rather your mood instantly lights up by newborn’s odour and you feel like a rush of dopamine in the brain, the long days and sleepless nights seem tireless when you get to see your baby smiling back at you – That moment, that exact moment you know, you embraced the one important role called “MOTHERHOOD” in every possible way.
The Earth completes yet another trip around the Sun. And when I look back I can only imagine how fast this year has gone by. It seems like just yesterday when I came to know about her arrival, my very own Durga. As I gaze upon the beautiful autumn sky while singing lullabies to my little one , I remember another yet another autumn morning last year, the pujo had just finished and I was just seeking a way to deal with the usual Monday blue. I felt a bit uneasy during my office call and this time it was something different. And, I knew it was her. From the moment I came to know about her arrival , I knew that whatever I am going to carry in my belly, will be transferred to my heart and stay there forever from that day onwards till my last breath. When someone tells me “ Wow, you have changed so much “, and rightfully so, Motherhood changes you. There are hard days, the days when we get frustrated, angry, sleep deprived and the list goes on, but somehow we learn to accept the change in us. We start to understand the fact that we will never be the same as our babies changed us to the core, forever. And, we wouldn’t have this in any other way. In spite of bouncing back, we learn to praise ourselves for whatever we do. We learn to admire our bodies for the miracle it creates. We learn to accept the flaws we have as that’s what make us unique and strong, We, more importantly , love the growth and changes that come through motherhood. We learn to respect the fearless human being aka The Devi in us. The creator of universe.
The people who know me pretty well, know how much I love to get decked up during this time and curating this Mahalaya special lookbook for past
7 years have been quite a journey. Specially for this very auspicious day which signifies the ultimate beginning of Bengalese’ biggest festival. And, this year, I couldn’t be happier, prouder to celebrate MA Durga with my very own little Dugga, EKAPARNIKA , the Goddess herself.
Featuring this hand-spun white base with red golden Swarnachari , an absolutely Bengal’s own creation in white red ensemble. Hope you love our look.
