Uma ~ Devi Durga’s Homecoming

Hello to all my lovely souls,

How are y’all doing. Hope you all are safe and sound, trying to be at home, unless it is really necessary to go out. We all are trying really hard to overcome every hurdle that comes our way, I know. And, I am pretty sure we will win this battle.

So, that time of the year has finally come. That auspicious time for which we, Bengalese wait for. The celebration of Ma Durga’s homecoming. It is believed that Devi Durga, fondly known as Uma, is the daughter of Bengal, having been married to Lord Shiva, she pays this annual visit to Her maiden home with Her four children: Ganesh, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Kartik. Uma , the divine goddess of fertility, love, beauty, harmony, marriage, children, and devotion, as well as of divine strength and power. This year it is completely different though. It is going to be more of praying than celebrating this time.

I have had doubts on my mind, with everything going on around me to not to include my all time favorite look-book for this year. But, then again, I reminded myself , this is also the time for patience and prayers. We might not celebrate the festival like before, let’s not dampen our spirits. Let’s pray to our almighty Goddess so that Mother nature can resurrect, let’s be united in this tough time, let’s spread our hands for those who are in need, let’s try to count all the blessings that life showered on us and be grateful, let’s try to pay homage to all those beautiful souls who have been helping us from the beginning of this tough period without even caring about their own, let’s spend our time with our family & friends a little more, with all the safety measurement that we can take, last but not the least, let’s be a little more . And, if not now, when then! Because, that is the true essence of a festival. Let this Durga Pujo be the celebration of the quintessential victory of devotion over arrogance, of divine love over worldly ego, and of good over evil.

With all your prayers and blessings , there she goes ~

Wish you all a very happy and safe Durga Pujo. Be Beautiful, Be Confident & Be YOU.

XOXO

Yours Aparajita
